Setting up XS4ALL on pfSense

Setting up XS4ALL on pfSense is very easy. In this tutorial I will be using version 2.3 of pfSense.

Requirements

  • pfSense v2.3.x is already installed
  • Two LAN ports on your pfSense device
  • pfSense is directly connected to the NTU

Step 1 - Create a VLAN

On the navigation bar, click Interfaces and then click (assign). Click the VLANs tab.

Add a new VLAN:

Sometimes interfaces are named differently, in this example the names are em0 (WAN) and em1 (LAN).

Step 2 - Attach WAN to VLAN4

On the navigation bar, click Interfaces and then click (assign). Click the PPP tab.

Edit the pppoe0 link interface to attach the created VLAN to WAN:

Step 3 - Attach WAN to PPPOE with VLAN4

On the navigation bar, click Interfaces and then click (assign).

On the WAN interface select PPPOE0(em0_vlan4) - your_username from the dropdown and click on save:

Step 4 - Configure the WAN interface

To configure your WAN interface, click Interfaces and select WAN in the navigation bar.

Fill in the fields like the screenshot below:

Step 5 - Configure the LAN interface

To configure your LAN interface, click Interfaces and select LAN in the navigation bar.

Fill in the fields like the screenshot below:
